TOCCATA No 1 (2013)

Performed par Antoine Rivard-Landry

Compulsory piece for the Stepping Stone round of the 2018 Canadian Music Competition.

This toccata expresses the conflict between two musical ideas: one heavily chromatic and the other bewitching and belonging to an imaginary folklore. If the two ideas are most often heard separately, the apotheosis brings them together, collides them, without it being possible to determine who is the winner of this fight.
