String Quartet No. 4
Quatuor Bozzini
Bozzini Quartet (Clemens Merkel, violin; Alissa Cheung, violin; Stéphanie Bozzini, viola; Isabelle Bozzini, cello)
In concert on February 20, 2024
Premiere of String Quartet No. 4 (2023–24) by Francis Battah at Salle Bleue (Wilder Building), in collaboration with Le Vivier, as part of the event Harmonies Inouïes produced by the Bozzini Quartet.
The result of a nine-month residency, this work, commissioned by the Bozzini Quartet with support from the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec (CALQ), immerses the listener in an imaginary culture with its own musical tradition. Built on a distinctive tuning system, the resulting music is constructed from microtonal scales far removed from Western traditions.

Toccata No. 1
Antoine Rivard-Landry
Double fantaisie
